 The C.E. Beckman & Co. Building, or Granite Building, located in New Bedford’s historic district, has been the home of various sail makers and ship chandlers since 1843.It has been home to the C.E. Beckman Co. marine supply store for over 80 years. The exterior of the structure consists of massive granite blocks, and the interior of substantial timber frames. A new dormered roof had been installed on the building, leaks in which caused substantial water damage. We devised a method of repairing the existing roof system and restoring the original historic roofline.           |
